About Me
Hi! I’m Amy. I’m a twenty-one year old student in the Northwest, and I make and post everything on here. I have no culinary training and I’m not exactly an exceptional cook. But thing is, I really like food—making it, reading about it, talking about it, sharing it—but you’ve probably already figured that out, seeing as this is my food blog and all.
————————————————————————————–
The name of this site, The Moveable Feasts, comes from these two quotes:
“If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast.”
Ernest Heminway
“You never forget a beautiful thing that you have made. Even after you eat it, it stays with you–always.”
Julia Child
Basically my intentions with this thing are to share and write about nice dishes that I want to make again and that stay with you, kind of like a moveable feast. (By the way, sorry Ernest Hemingway, if I’m disgracing a beautiful quote and comparison you made. I really do have honest intentions with this.)

From one foodie to another, keep up the good work. I too grew up in a suburb south of Seattle and am now living in Paris. Came across your blog by chance. Going to try your recipe for cinnamon rolls this weekend.

Thanks Nicole, your comment means a lot. And Paris! It’s kind of a naive dream of mine (but a dream nonetheless) to live in France one day. Seems like you’ve landed one of the best foodie locations, lucky you.
Good luck with the cinnamon rolls, let me know how they turn out for you.

Amy, I am so completely and utterly in love with your blog, I have read every entry at least 3 times!
So the other day upon browsing the internet and trawling all the food blogs out there I found a food concept that I have never considered before; the crepe cake. Then to add to this I saw that you had pinned one. I think that this should be one of the things that you make soon as I would love to see how one turns out but I am not daring enough to try it for myself yet and senior year pressures are laying on hard at the moment. I am awaiting the glorious summertime when I hope to be cooking every day. Here is the recipe I found http://www.sprinklebakes.com/2012/01/chocolate-amaretto-crepe-cake.html This website/blog is full of awesome sweet treats, I don’t know if you have come across it previously.
I hope that junior year is treating you well
:)

Lauren!! Your comment just made my day (or rather week…)
I think ever since I was 15 I wanted to make a crepe cake, but it’s just one of those things that always gets brushed aside when it comes down to it actually picking something to make–it intimidates me so much! I’m definitely going to try it out soon, now that you’ve motivated me! Maybe over spring break I’ll get a chance. Thanks for showing that site to me, I haven’t seen it yet and that crepe cake looks just about perfect. I always love finding new blogs to waste some time on. :)
It was so nice hearing from you, Lauren! Sorry to hear senior year is giving you a hard time but at least you’re almost done. What are you planning to do post graduation? And when you’re free and it’s summer keep in contact with me and let me know what you’re cooking up!

Hey Lauren, I’ve just started following your blog because I also love food and have no training or anything. You also quoted two of my favourite people so clearly we’re on the same wave length. :) I look forward to reading more of your posts! x

Let me just say that I recently found your blog and I absolutely love it!!! I tried out the strawberry cream cake this past week and WOW!!! The result was a bit messy on my behalf, but then again, I am a messy cook hehehe. I gave you a shout out!!! I can’t wait to see what you cook up this month :)

Awesome blog here! I would like to nominate you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, mainly because you are very inspiring (duh.) Your mission (if you choose to accept it) is to 1) display the award logo, 2) link back to the person giving the award, 3) state 7 things about you, 4) list 15 blogs that you wish to nominate, 5) notify these bloggers of the award and the rules. The person that nominated me is here: http://theleapingllama.net/ You don’t have to follow through with this if you don’t want to, but I just want you to know that you are an inspiring force on this internet… hahaha!
